Bio

Kirsten (she/her) has close to 20 years experience working with nonprofits and in higher education. From 2008-2018 she was an advisor for TRIO Student Support Services here at the University of Minnesota (U of M), as well as a teaching specialist and the College English Transitions program coordinator. She is also an alum of the U of M TRIO program and a former General College student. Kirsten has a B.A. in Women’s Studies and an ABE teaching license from the University of Minnesota, as well as a Masters in Postsecondary Adult and Continuing Education and a graduate certificate in Teaching Adult Learners from Portland State University. She is currently the undergraduate advisor for the Family Social Science department. In her spare time she enjoys biking, swimming, kayaking, and hanging with her husband and baby.
